COURSE PROJECT BRIEF · ORIGINAL TRAINING ASSIGNMENT

Data Analysis with Excel: the work you will make

Analyse a fictional retailer’s sales in a reviewable Excel workbook: raw and cleaned data, quality log, formulas, lookup, validated PivotTable, dashboard and a three-finding memo with limitations.

What your work should demonstrate

  • Clean and validate a business dataset
  • Use formulas, conditional totals and key-based lookups
  • Build and reconcile PivotTables and clear charts
  • Explain findings, assumptions and limitations in a reviewable workbook

Build a reviewable evidence package

  1. Brief and source index. Name the audience, intended result, software and files included. Label fictional data and training scenarios clearly.
  2. Original editable work. Keep working files and dependencies. Document any external assets and the permission needed to use them.
  3. Checks and iterations. Show a baseline, one meaningful revision and the evidence you used to judge it. Include settings or test results where the course requires them.
  4. Reflection and viewing link. Explain your decisions, repaired problems and remaining limitations. Test the link while signed out, and keep passwords and personal records out of the submission.
